Awesome Dog Swim Days 2024 in Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex

I am always looking for fun things to do in DFW with my dogs. And dog swim days are something I look forward to at the end of summer!

Is Swimming Good For Dogs?

Yes, swimming can be very beneficial for dogs!

Swimming is a low-impact form of exercise that puts less stress on a dog’s joints compared to activities like running or jumping. It is especially beneficial for dogs with joint issues, arthritis, or other mobility limitations.

Swimming engages the muscles in a dog’s entire body, providing a comprehensive workout. It helps build strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness.

Swimming is an excellent activity for dogs that need to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. The buoyancy of the water reduces the impact on their joints while still allowing them to burn calories.

Swimming provides mental stimulation for dogs, as they have to navigate through the water and use their instincts. It can also help alleviate boredom and provide a fun and engaging activity.

It’s important to keep in mind that not all dogs are natural swimmers, and some may require assistance or swimming aids such as life jackets. Additionally, it’s crucial to ensure the safety of your dog by supervising them closely around water and providing a controlled environment for swimming.

Final Thoughts

Again, I have only ever gone to the Doggie Beach Bash at NRH2O. You can view the videos of Colt at Doggie Beach Bash here.

We lost Colt in the spring of 2023, but we still plan on taking Hank. It’s a good size water park and the wave pool is top notch. Some of the venues seem a little smaller, but should be fun for your pups!

And don’t forget to check this post again next year. I will update the dates when I see that they’re posted.

Do you know of a dog swim days that I missed in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex? Let me know in the comments below!

Katie

    1. some events allow spectators! If you love dogs, but don’t have one, I would choose that! haha

  1. Never heard of this, but it looks like a great place for your dog to have some summer fun. Especially with this heat!

  2. I live in Fort Worth but we haven’t ever gone to the dogs swimming events. I’m not sure how my dogs will do. I have a Yorkie and boxer mix. She would probably like it but she can get a bit hyper around other dogs.

  3. Oookay we dont have this kind of pool play in my state! But thats pretty cool you can share the fun with the pups’

  4. Wow! This looks like a really wonderful place for dogs! I know my dog would definitely love to be there!

  5. My oldest son and his then-girlfriend used to take their dog everywhere, even kayaking, lolol. They’d have loved this kind of pooch swim for sure.
